A Little Princess

Waving goodbye to her great grandma after she got the doll back! Tiara was thrown after the screaming began! A good family friend, Rachel, gave Sarah Grace this adorable princess kit.  It has everything you need to make your little one a sparkling dream in a pink tulle dress, tiara, wand, and slippers!  Sarah Grace absolutely loves it, every time we go to my parents house she runs straight for it.  I think she likes the crinkling noise it makes when she walks.  It's super cute! Anyway, this last sunday my grandma came by for a few minutes and wanted to show Gracie a doll. HUGE MISTAKE! The girl is such a sucker for baby dolls...they really are her favorite.  I think it was love at first sight for her, she was dragging the doll all over the yard.  My grandma however, did not have intentions of giving it to her, but wanted to keep it at her house so Sarah Grace would have another toy to play with over there. (Wow long sentence...probably a run on) She was devastated when we took it away from her. I mean instant crying and running after it, which only led to high pitched screaming. (My personal favorite)  She usually doesn't get away with her screaming, but my grandma gave in and reunited her with the toy.  Such a stinker...

Playing, Potatoes, & Projects

Sarah Grace at 12 months! The beast that took Eric & my Dad 5 hours to install...long story! And after 2 1/2 years we finally put fans up, now, this is not the chandelier I originally wanted or the flower fan that I settled for, but it works and its kinda cute! By the way, if anyone wants to know how to make the bow holder it's super easy & I don't mind sharing, although you may find a better way of doing it! A bow project I did forever ago and never posted about...its a few bows up there, but I had no where else to put them.  This dresser has been sitting in our shed for almost a year & I finally did some work on it and put in Sarah Grace's bedroom! This picture is for my aunt Melda/Nanni, love the dress! The girl likes a raw potato and I don't blame her, I just choose to peel mine first! We've been busy around here and I've kinda slacked on my blog.  I guess I will just have to start combining the next few to make up for it.  Eric has been busy finishing up this semester and is looking forward to his two week break in between. He recently found out that he will be able to do his internship this summer, which we were not expecting, and will now (hopefully) be able to graduate in december!  We are keeping our fingers crossed...   I have about 4 more weeks of "tutoring" and I can hardly wait for summer to get here. I have so much planned, including swim lessons starting in June for Sarah Grace. I've been keeping myself super busy with organizing the house and clearing out clutter.  I have packed away any decor that is not hanging on the wall and has no real purpose other than looking pretty.  I also started a cleaning schedule for myself which appears to be working out pretty well so far.  Honestly, I  have lists on all of my doors in the house. A  To Do list, cleaning schedule, home improvement list, grocery list, food storage...there are too many to count.  But its helping and thats the important part, I've found myself to be too scatter brained to function without them.  Sarah Grace is wonderful of course, including being wonderfully challenging at moments.  Let's just say she has a temper, wish I could blame that one on Eric! Luckily it passes very quickly! She's so loving though & recently all she wants to do is kiss/hug you!  I guess it makes the moments of tantrums worth it.  We've been calling her the sour patch kid, have ya seen the commercials, "first they're sour, then they're sweet," with the little piece of candy doing mean things and then hugging the person.  Thats Grace, she may hit you, but one second later she gives you a huge hug & a kiss!  A little frustrating/humorous.  I guess we are all a work in progress!

Dirt anyone?

Dirt is so yummy...Can you see her bottom teeth? She officially has two bottom & two top, she has two more up top that should be breaking through any day now! So exciting! Sarah Grace loves sitting on everything...brick, baby, dog, toys, she just loves to back into whatever she can find!
The before...with an after to follow soon!
I have a huge list of projects that need to be done around our house, half on paper & the other half tormenting me in my head. Yes, tormenting is the right word, every night I lay in bed just thinking of all the things that I want to do around our place. Not the practical things, the creative things that will be taking place in the next couple of months! Anyway, friday we did a practical thing on my list.  We have two flower beds at our house and a back porch that needed a facelift.  Eric, Sarah Grace, & I went to Lowe's friday afternoon and picked up tons of seeds for veggies, flowers, and we snagged a few other plants.  Also on the list, ceiling fans, which by the way took Eric & my Dad 5 1/2 hours to install on saturday.  But they look amazing and feel even better, so thank you dad & Eric! But back to my original story...we worked pretty hard in the front digging up plants and moving them, on top of the new stuff we were planting.  Sarah Grace had fun running around outside and dipping her paci in the dirt, which later led to big handfuls of dirt going towards her mouth & lots of giggling from her! Let just say a bath and a nap followed soon after! I don't have any after pictures to show yet...I wanted to wait till a few more flowers started to bloom, but we are loving all the beautiful flowers up front and excited about some homegrown veggies this summer! The back patio/porch whatever is still a work in progress, hopefully we will have pics of that soon too!

Easter Sunday

This is what the boys did to entertain themselves! Peaches anyone? I love Easter Sunday...church was wonderful & Sarah Grace behaved...for the most part, she did give Stephanie one slap to the face! Sarah Grace looked absolutely adorable and loved prancing around in her easter dress.  I think she knows when she looks good...haha...  The family had a delicious dinner at my parents house, where I ate WAY too much and Sarah Grace rubbed peaches in her hair. Yummy right? We enjoyed some family time just talking with my Grandma and relaxing for a few hours. I love sunday naps! Jacob and I grabbed 10 of the eggs that we had dyed the previous night and hid them around my parents front yard.  Gracie had fun scouting the eggs out with her uncle Will while the rest of us watched in laughter as she would place the eggs in her basket.  The basket was a little bit big for her, so most of the time she just dragged it behind her.  After a bit she started to snatch the eggs up and squeeze them in her hands! She also tried to eat them, which led to a lovely blue mess! Loved this Easter...
