Obsessions

I haven't blogged in what seems like forever, but in actuality, more like a week  I think... I've managed to find something else to fuel my addictive personality. So, I have totally been avoiding the Twilight series for many reasons the main one being that everyone seems to love it. I hate being apart of another trend, actually Eric & I try to go against any sort of trend and well, vampires are just not my thing. But after seeing previews for the movie I really wanted to see it. I didn't want to see it without reading the book first though, so this past wednesday I gave in and started the first book. Before the end of the night I had managed to stay in my pajamas all day, hardly eat, and allowed my daughter to take way too many naps, but I finished it that night. Crap! I loved it! Now I'm apart of the stupid obsessive Twilight frenzy! Saw the movie friday night and really enjoyed it, I would like to go again in the next few weeks when it will be less likely to have screaming women/girls in the theater cheering throughout it! Needless to say it is now Tuesday and less than a week ago I started book one and I'm going out today to buy book 4...did I ever mention I'm a fast reader? Maybe too fast! Eric says he can't wait to have me back!   OH and just a funny one of Sarah Grace, doesn't she look like the kid from A Christmas Story! After viewing this picture and my massive biceps we went out & bought her a new car seat!

Do I have something on my face?

So my picture quality is horrible, but I was trying to be fast! Sarah Grace has recently started feeding herself. Its the cutest thing watching her concentrate to grab the little pieces of food. She still eats all the mushy baby food and the little dissolvable fruits and little puffs. The child does not have any signs of teeth! Anyway, she missed her mouth a couple of times this morning and these pieces were stuck to her face for about 10 minutes! I was rolling with laughter, she is honestly hilarious!

Ten Months Already!

Today Sarah Grace turned 10 months old. She is such a delightful baby, we are having so much fun with her. I love being able to teach her new things while she teaches me so much more about myself. This child is everywhere now, pulling out pots & pans, trying to break into the bathrooms when no one is looking, pressing every button she can find, you name it...she's probably doing it or at least trying. This new stage is so exciting and fun, but I also miss that tiny little baby that we brought home from the hospital. I love her little personality and I think Eric and I have our work cut out for us!
                                                     At 10 months she is:
*Crawling at top speeds
*Walking and standing alone, but crawling if its just too far!
*Talking up a storm
*Trying to mimic sounds and words
*A mommy's girl
*Trying to bark like her puppy dogs
*Finally starting to understand the word no
*Drinking out of straws, sippie cups, loving sacrament cups
* Loves making phone calls, (sorry if you are the ones receiving them)
*Extremely stubborn
*A cuddler, she loves being held and snuggled with
*Knows where her nose is and knows how to point to others
*A dancing machine...once she hears the beat she bounces away
*Still toothless
*Loving bathtime
*Making it very difficult to change her diapers...she loves rolling around
*Throws toys to you
*Loves playing with leaves
*Has fun watching football, baseball, & loves watching the cheerleaders
*The sweetest little thing ever!!!

Last home game!

Sarah Grace loved Cole, once he gave her his phone...she was hooked! Saturday was our last home game of the season. We've had so much fun going down tailgating and just spending time with family before the ball games. It will be nice having our saturdays back and just being able to watch the games on tv, but nothing beats the goosebumps you get right before Carolina comes running out of the tunnel. Even though Sarah Grace is young, I'm so glad she was able to experience the games this year. She obviously won't remember it, but Eric & I have some fun memories to share with her now and tons of pictures. We will have to get her a new cheerleading outfit for next season, you can tell she's totally outgrown her current one! Back to the game...we got to Columbia around 9:00 or just before and had a big breakfast with muffins, sausage, cheese, biscuits, bacon, and fruit. Eric grilled some hotdogs after the game...I love the food. Its the best part of football season! Carolina ended up beating Arkansas and Sarah Grace slept through the first half of the game. The boys will be heading down to Gainesville on saturday to see the Carolina/Florida game. I just hope we don't get slaughtered!!!

Lovely lingering leaves!

Tonight was the big Dorman/Spartan High game. SHS is our across the town rivals, the week Dorman plays them is usually filled with pep rallies and other fun activities at the schools. Mud slinging and wearing overalls is a must during the week too. (Dorman originally was the school that all of the "farmers"kids went to) So here is a fun picture before the game of Sarah Grace, Will, and his buddy Dillon in there overalls! Sarah Grace is also rocking her baby Nike Shox, you should see how high she can jump in those babies!! We played in the leaves today! Isn't she just precious?! OH how I love her & yes, my 9 month old is walking...mostly!

Recipe for the Flu

Eric posted several recipes last night to the family recipe blog. I must say he inspired me to post my own "recipe" for the flu!...See, I'm complaining again!
*You must wear the same t-shirt at least two days in a row
*Don't even bother with deodorant, it's really not that important
*Be sure to wear your Uggs for the shivers, they really help take care of that
*Put baby Uggs on your daughter, she is surely feeling your pain too!
*Allow your child to nose dive off a piece of furniture (glad to see those lessons on sliding off are working)
*Next, allow anyone and everyone to come and take care of you. YOU ARE SICK!
*Suggest chicken noodle soup for dinner, but don't you make it, allow husband to be creative and figure it out on his own. He may just enjoy himself in the process.
*It's imperative that you place soda bottles on your head to cool it off, wash clothes are overrated!
*If sister is trying to lose weight and needs a quick way to do it, be sure to let her drink after you and cough on her every chance you get!
*It's important to brush your teeth at least once...you don't want to gross your husband out!
*By the night of day 2 a shower may be required, don't be offended when your husband says"remember to wash your feet, you've been walking around on dirty floors for two days."
*Floors may be dirty along with rest of house, you have been sick and have not had time for housework.
*If you decide to shower, shaving is optional, the deciding factor is going to be the time it will take for you to shower again? 2 days? 3 days? Dare I say 4?
*It's ok to wear the same sweat pants after the shower, but do not put on that shirt that you have been wearing for 2 1/2 days, ladies, that is just taking it too far!
*When husband is home, its ok to take the drowsy medication, he can watch the baby!
*Don't bathe child for two days either, you just don't have time in between the soda drinking and sleeping!
*And finally, its normal to be moody and emotional, you are sick, and its about you!

The flu and other aches!

It's amazing to me how I can be in labor all day and not complain once. Seriously, I didn't say a word, Eric didn't even know when I was having contractions. But by golly, you give me the flu and I will probably complain 3 times in a matter of 30 minutes! I hate it, burning head, shivers, aching body! I even stood in line with my 30lb purse/diaper bag for a hour and a half to vote (Eric waited 2 1/2 hours just for me to go in and cancel his vote) Oh how  I love democracy! Anyway, so I was sick and had little patience for the crazy german lady who broke in line and ended up being 8 people ahead of me! So crappy!... Nice part about being sick? Being loopy from medication while watching the results of the election last night. Disappointed yes, surprised no, Romney in '12!!

Tennessee game!

So I realized earlier today that I had yet to post anything on the Tennessee game. We had high hopes for that game and we were not disappointed at all! It was a pretty exciting game to watch. I didn't even hear the Vols band play Rocky Top! The half time show was pretty cool, the band/dancers did a halloween themed show. The dancers did a little number to thriller and then the band played another Michael Jackson song, but out of nowhere they started playing thriller again and the entire band put down their instruments and busted out with the "thriller" dance. It was pretty cool, maybe I will try to load a video of it on here! Anyway, Sarah Grace did pretty well, despite her cough and everyone in our section loved playing with her!  I'm glad she does so well at these games and I'm glad she was exposed to baseball games at such a young age, makes my life a lot easier!   Well, Carolina won, and Fat Phil was fired, no surprise there I guess. But the best part of the game was the beautiful hound dog. Oh how I want one! He was so excited to run across the field and barked a ton! There is nothing better than that deep hound dog howl!

Trunk or Treat!

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?  Too many options! Halloween night was a bit chaotic for us this year! Eric signed up to make his chili, he volunteered me to make cornbread, and I made sugar cookies (in the cutest pumpkin & ghost shapes) for our ward Trunk or Treat. The missionaries asked Eric to take them to the activity, so I was going to ride with my parents so the boys could have some room in our little Jetta... well the missionaries called 30 minutes before the activity and asked Eric if some investigators could follow  him to the church. Of course he said yes and he headed over there as I left with my parents. Long story short, 45 minutes after the activity started they finally arrived. Apparently the family was not quite ready yet. Eric's chili did not make it in time for the contest and everyone was finished eating when he got there. But it was excellent and even spicier today! We decorated my parents trunk again this year since its quite a bit bigger and we WON best trunk! This is our 3rd year in a row with that title and we plan on keeping it! Sarah Grace had fun, but was not a big fan of her headband/tiara and ended up throwing it down and breaking it. I will be repairing it tomorrow because I'm sure she will love it in a few years for dress up! Her wand was also used as a weapon, but I'm pretty sure she only used it on her daddy! Thank you Nana for the darling costume. Everyone loved it! ...even though I did leave it at the church that night when I was chasing down a naked 3 1/2 year old who had managed to stip out of her costume! Wow, that was sooooo not fun! We got up first thing saturday morning to search the church and sure enough we found it! Luckily! I'm sure it would have been snagged up this morning between all the wards.  Man do I ramble on and on and on! Sarah Grace was very excited about her candy, well mostly the crinkling noises the wrappers made. But she did get to enjoy another lollipop and was even kind enough to share with everyone! Such a sweet little one!  Happy Hallween !!!
