A few weeks ago Eric & I said farewell to the Jetta. We've been talking about getting a new car for some time now, but we were wanting to wait until the end of the summer. The Jetta had some problems and was starting to rack up the miles. My Golf doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the Jetta had, but it's still under 100k. We ended up finding a really good deal on a family car. I would drive the newer one and Eric would get the golf. I'll be quite honest though, I think the driving has been about 50/50 with the new one. (Eric is really liking it.)We were sad to see the Jetta go, it was our first big purchase together and we've had many great trips in that car. I think I even saw Eric shed a tear when we left it at the dealership. I don't blame him, its tough, but we're excited about our new car and the memories we will make with it!

A lot of memories in those Jettas. I still see blue Jettas, and think, "Oh our Jetta..." Then I remember how much it broke down on us and the sadness disappears. :) I'm glad you guys had a better experience.
Now you can make new family memories in your new car. I don't blame him for wanting to drive it, I want to drive it.
Its sad saying goodbye to a car you've had so long. and you guys really have had that jetta for a long time.

Every time I think about the Tahoe I get a little melancholy. You really do get attached to your vehicle. But it's nice not having mechanical problems too!
