Check up
As you can see I have been really bad with my camera lately. I suppose I need to dust it off and get busy snapping away! So Sarah Grace turned 3 in January and come February I finally made her appointment for her 3 year well check up. I think it was supposed to be one of the last weeks of February. The night before her appointment though, her doctors office called me and said if I didn't have any immediate concerns then they would prefer to reschedule because the flu was so bad. I of course obliged and we had her appointment this past week. Gracie girl was really excited to be there and of course she was absolutely adorable around all of the staff. She seriously has the worlds best doctor. He always takes the time to remind us that we need to be having date nights and that the best thing we can give Sarah Grace is our time. I'd like to think that Sarah Grace is a very blessed girl because she gets lots of time with me, but she also gets a ton of time with her dad and I don't think a lot of kids have that opportunity. I think its important that she gets parented by her dad. Mom & Dads are so different and I think each child needs the variety. Growing up my Dad was always home by 4 and we had plenty of time with him before bed. It was great! Anyway, she had to get one vaccine and was a champ for it. Her asthma and allergies have kicked in so we had to get refills of her meds and now she's getting nebulized twice a day for the next two months. Let me say, I LOVE traveling with that thing! Sarah Grace's speech and everything is right on track and overall she looks great. We talked for a few minutes about the scar above her lip and we're supposed to give it 6 months to a year to go away and if it doesn't then we will be sent to a plastic surgeon. We're still loading up on the Mederma and sunscreen and keeping our fingers crossed. As far as her size goes, she's in the 81% for her weight and the 79th for her height. A lot of her newer clothes are 4t which fit as far as the length goes, but a lot of the 4t shirts are too broad for her. She seems to be taller than a lot of kids her age right now, but I'm pretty sure she's not going to be a very big kid. A lot of people think big babies mean big kids. SOOOOOO not true! Her doctor also talked about the new car seat laws, which I had read about the night before. Mandy & Katrina, I'm sure yall have seen this by now, but they're now wanting kids to stay rear facing till they're two. I think its always been suggested, but now they are more so enforcing it. Anyway, her doc said because she is so petite that she'll probably have to stay in the 5 point harness seat until she's 5. No biggie, she doesn't know any different right?! It makes me laugh because I swear she's been 35 pounds since she was 18 months old. They say that happens though, they just keep getting taller without any real weight gain. Overall it was a very productive and informative appointment. It amazes me how quickly they grow and change.

It's so nice to have a doctor you like. She's a lucky girl to have such great parents who spend quality time with her.
Sophie is kind of the same way. She needs the 4T clothes for length, but they just don't quite fit right other places.
Such cute pictures. I can't wait to see you guys. It's been forever. She won't know who I am.
Dont you love good doctors? I really love A's doctor too. Its an added bonus that he's LDS, too. Not that that makes any major difference, but its nice.
I actually knew about the car seat laws (recommendations) and I do plan on keeping A rear-facing for as long as I can. 2 might be a bit more than I can handle (and Miss A) but we bought a 32 lb car seat for a reason, and by golly we're going to use it! Haha, with Miss A's size she could be in that 32 car seat until she's 3!! We wont be that extreme. I'm thinking maybe 18 months or so. We'll see.
Sarah Grace is adorable! Every time I see her, her vocabulary is so much more advanced. It is amazing to see the varied sentences structures she is now using and the complexity of her sentences! Such a smart little girl! :)
