The Wedding

Nicole.
She forgot to get all of the traditional things a bride wears on her wedding day. She was lacking something borrowed and couldn't find anything. I was wearing a bow brooch that used to belong to my Grandma Ethel. I suggested that she wear it on her garter. It counted as the something borrowed and something old. I got a picture of it, but Nicole was wearing the garter at the time and I figured I shouldn't post her thigh on the blog!

Before the wedding, I was doing whatever I could to keep them entertained...and clean!

Aren't they precious?

They had several water features at the venue and after the ceremony Sarah Grace managed to sneak off before pictures and chuck a huge rock into one of them. The ring bearer then decided he should do the same. Neither his Dad nor I could catch him in time. I don't think any of the staff saw them...

This is my very good friend Amy. Sarah Grace thinks she is the greatest. The other day she was in trouble and through her tears she kept saying, "I want Amy, I want Amy." I guess she figured Amy could save her!

I thought this picture was hilarious, I'm not sure what was said, but they sure did manage to have matching faces!

I know, I just posted a million pictures, well, it felt like a million. Last saturday my friend Nicole got married and Miss Sarah Grace was the flower girl. Let me tell you, I was extremely nervous about this. I mean for starters she's only two years old, a bit young in my opinion for such a big job.  But, she did great, I was a worry wart for no reason. She actually ended up semi dragging the ring bearer down the aisle who is almost exactly a year older than her. They were absolutely adorable and they had so much fun playing together. The wedding was beautiful and the food was great. My parents were kind enough to come and pick Sarah Grace up so Eric & I could enjoy the reception with our friends. We really loved being able to socialize and just goof off with everyone. ( I think the never ended Cokes helped with that!) My only complaint for the night was that we had to have girl baby there two hours early for pictures. The bride ended up being a hour and 15 minutes late, so pictures did not happen before the ceremony. We were stuck entertaining the two little ones, I'll be quite honest I didn't think they were going to make it. It really could have been a disaster! I'm very grateful that she behaved herself!

Huh?

It's late, I'm exhausted and I'm having a hard time adjusting to Eric's new schedule, so is he.  I keep thinking about all the packing I have to do before thursday and cleaning. I've got to do some good scrubbing around the house. Anyone want to help me? Please? Ok, Stephanie, you will probably be forced to assist me before yall leave me and go to the beach to bask in the sunlight and run in the waves. Don't worry about me, I'll just be on a four hour flight with a two year old. What I'm typing doesn't even make sense, I apologize. I think I'm going to bed. What a disappointment this post is. For those of you who read this blog I do have upcoming post about Charleston and the wedding. Those should be somewhat entertaining, but until I get around to it you are left with these eleven sentences that are just plain.

26 is looking pretty good!

Meet Tuck, the Birthday turtle!

Yesterday I entered my late-ish twenties! I had such an awesome day! I woke up to Krispy Kreme donuts and Diet Dr. Pepper....it was heavenly! Eric said that he always makes me breakfast, so he wanted to mix it up a bit, I think he did a great job! After breakfast we spent some time working in our garden and sprucing up our patio. Eric & Sarah Grace took me out for my favorite for lunch...Mexican. So yummy! We all were dying for a nap after that and got in a few good hours. We had birthday hot dogs at my parents house, along with cake and ice cream. (My actual birthday dinner was sunday night, we had porkchops and applesauce!) I was showered with gifts and lots of love. Thanks everyone for the surprises, phone calls, and messages!

Phew, halfway there...

Tomorrow is the big day, I'm a little nervous. We have to be at the wedding location at 4 o'clock, the ceremony isn't until 6:30. Thats a pretty long gap for a 2 year old, hopefully she doesn't get sick of saying "cheese."  The rehearsal went really well tonight, her and the ring bearer were absolutely precious holding hands. I pray that tomorrow goes well and that she doesn't scream during the vows.  Wish us luck, or even better, pray for us!

*They held the dinner tonight at this really tasty restaurant. I had the Fillet Mignon and it was perfect. It literally melted in my mouth!

Thankful

This morning I am so very grateful for this little one. We had a very scary experience last night that could have ended very badly, I'm not going to go in to detail because I think as parents Eric & I already feel bad enough and we don't want to dwell on the what ifs. I'm just thankful that we have a Heavenly Father who watches over us!

Recents

Sarah Grace has always loved chap stick and lipgloss. Well now she has a newfound love for my lipstick. She managed to break two last week. This of course was after the fact, I guess she was going for a Hitler look or something?! Although I was slightly upset, I had to get a picture of the stinker!

Mom, I know you probably won't care for this pic, but I wanted to post Will's awesome wrapping job!

On monday Eric had to turn his keys and work phone to his previous employer up in North Carolina. Sarah Grace and I went along for the ride and got lunch and a trip to the park out of it. Sarah Grace loves this park and had so much fun running around like a mad woman!

I know this pic is a horrible one of me, but I just thought it was too funny to not post. Sarah Grace did not want to be on that dinosaur. She had a mini meltdown which involved her yanking my shirt down. (A new favorite of hers, really not ok in public.)

Eric thought it was a good idea to teach Sarah Grace how to spit into the water. I'm hoping she doesn't remember this...a lady never spits!

My Grandma joined a choir a few months back and is really enjoying it. Tuesday morning they were singing at a local church and Steph, Jake, Sarah Grace, and I went to listen. The choir did an awesome job and they even sang and LDS song. My Grandma had borrowed a Friend magazine from my Mom a while back and found a song she liked. Well she showed it to the choir director who apparently loved it, and well, there you have it. A group of southern baptist singing a Mormon song....haha if they only knew!

I know I've been absent from the blogging world for a few days now and I apologize to the five people who actually look at it! I've been lazy, plain and simple. It's ok to be lazy sometimes, I think everyone needs a chance to just back away from things. I had a wonderful Mothers day, Eric was so kind to me. Saturday evening I got off of work and ran home really quickly to change for a party we were supposed to go to later on. When I walked up to the back door I could see pink roses in my kitchen. Once I got in and actually walked around the house I saw two dozen pink roses in all sorts of vases and bottles all over. Sooooo pretty, I love having fresh flowers. It brightens the place up and makes our downstairs seem less like  a dungeon. Sunday morning I got breakfast in bed and another surprise from him. He did a great job, my little gift was perfect. He knows me too well! Church was wonderful and Sarah Grace made me a cute little card that has her hand print and a poem on it in nursery. I'm definitely going to laminate it, its precious! The boys made dinner afterwards and we had cake and presents. I know if I sat here long enough I could come up with a million more things to say, but instead I'll just go to bed. I can hardly think I'm so tired, which is a super bad thing considering I can hardly think when I'm well rested!
