An evening at the Park!

During Sarah Grace's walking adventures she kept finding things and picking them up, well I'm hoping they were just dirt clumps and not something else, but she finally settled on this tiny stick and refused to let it go! She held onto for a good twenty minutes until she finally dropped it! Such a funny little girl! I really wish I could be one of those bloggers who only post one picture that truly captures the essence of what they are describing. But I'm totally not, I will forever be a blogger who needs to put up a million pictures so every last detail is seen! Call me crazy...or indecisive I guess!  Eric watched Sarah Grace this morning while I worked my 4 hour shift at the vet clinic. I got home a little after 1 and Gracie was napping, within two minutes I was in bed with her. Honestly there are very few things I would rather do then snuggle in bed with her! A couple hours later we finally decided to get up and head to a park not to terribly far from us. I had never been before and was really looking forward to it. The park has a few good walking trails, beautiful flowers, cafes set up around for fun dining, an amazing bridge, and beautiful little water falls. We found  a comfy grassy area and let Sarah Grace walk around for a bit. She was pretty excited over the ducks and a basset hound that was out for a stroll. I of course, didn't even think about bringing bread for the little duckies, but we will definitely be back to feed them when it warms up again. Eric took Sarah Grace to the waters edge just to "look", next thing you know she is trying to run in it. She actually somewhat threw a "tantrum" when her Daddy wouldn't let her go in! Go figure! It was a lot of fun to actually get outside and be able to walk around, afterwards Eric took us out for dinner where I'm pretty sure I ate my weight in Mexican food. I honestly can't refrain when I see those chips and salsa. Hopefully someday I will learn!

Nothingness

Eric & I have been pretty low key lately, mostly because we are all just getting healthy again. Last night we decided to attempt to go out, Eric was starving and we live pretty close to a Souper Salad. So Wam Bam we loaded up on yummy lettuce, soup, and soft serve ice cream. Sarah Grace seemed to really enjoy the soup and breadsticks, but her favorite was probably the pudding covered in sprinkles that her dad gave her. I guess I can't blame her for liking it, although I didn't approve, I find that people are constantly sneaking her things when I'm not looking! OH well! We then dropped her off and hit a dollar movie with Will. YES, I finally got Will to see Twilight! Eric didn't take much convincing, but Will was a little more stubborn. He ended up enjoying it though, Eric was high off of benadryl and was in and out of it the entire time. Probably best considering all of the screaming girls (Really? this movie has been out for 4 months, get over it!) and the older couple behind us, the wife was giving a play by play the entire movie! So annoying, anyway, I noticed for the first time that Stephenie Meyers is actually in it. I guess the third times a charm. I know, I'm lame! In other news, we are going to the beach the first weekend of March! We are pretty excited, my brother is playing in a tournament down there so we are gonna stay at our favorite hotel, do tons of swimming, and watch a little baseball. We'll come home on a sunday night and then turn around and leave for Utah for 10 days! We are so ready for the vacations. Although we just realized today that we will be gone 3 sundays in a row. I guess I better start lining up subs now! This is a pretty random post, but Eric is watching Cartoons and Grace is taking her evening nap.

Bye Bye Nebulizer

We finished using the nebulizer on Sarah Grace Monday night. After a week of using it, she finally let us put it on her face! After the initial loud noise it makes when you first turn it on, the humming noise seemed to be soothing to her, enough to put her to sleep! I was glad to stash that thing away on tuesday, it was pretty inconvenient and Sarah Grace would take off running when she would see me pull it out!  Thankfully the wheezing is gone and Gracie can concentrate on more important things, such as tearing my house apart! Love this girl!

E + D =heart

Sarah Grace likes to steal bananas from the basket and walk around with them. Usually after a minute or two she has one end opened and she's going to town sucking on them. Eric found her with one and decided to give her a helping hand! Thank you Aunt Michele for the darling little dress, she got tons of compliments and smiles all day! We had a wonderful Valentine's Day this year! Sarah Grace & I were able to sleep in, which doesn't get to happen very often during the week, while Eric was at the gym. We had a lazy morning around the house and I made gigantic cupcakes. We each got little treats and fun things for happy heart day, although Sarah Grace's was probably a little more practical. Cupid brought her a cute little outfit for this summer (gotta stock up when you see the good deals) and my mom got her a cute little purse she was eyeing while at Target. Eric & I ended up going to the ward Valentine's Day activity and hung out with my sister & a friend afterwards. We had a pretty low key day, but we enjoyed the family time.
*So sorry if this doesn't make any sense, it's 2:11 in the morning and I'm obviously not in bed where I should be! Grace has been on some medicine that can make her wired and last night we were up till 2:30 and I guess my schedule is a little messed up now! Oh well, hopefully I can get a good nap in!

13 months...Can you believe it?!

Since we are all now sick, things have been a bit chaotic around here. I'm actually getting around to this post a lot sooner than I thought. I'm off a day again for the millionth time, but here we are, the 11th has come and gone and we can now say she is 13 months old. It's so hard to look back and think of how she looked a year ago and how much she has changed. We love this little one so much, she is the most loving creature and she melts my heart every day. I don't think I fully understood the love of a mother till I became one. It almost frightens me sometimes to think about all the trust this beautiful baby has in me and that I am in fact responsible for her!  Sarah Grace is such a wonderful and amazing baby we truly have been blessed. So on the the big stuff...
AT 13 MONTHS SHE IS:
*Pure entertainment all the time...this child has so much energy!
*A dancer...I'm so happy to say this, can't wait till july so we can start putting her in classes!
*So smart.... no really, this child catches on so quickly, she can watch you do something and a second later she has it figured out and mastered!
*The best cuddler ever, she wants to be loved on all the time.
*Snapping her fingers all the time.
*Loving to drink her Mot Tots juices out of the box, they are her favorites, thanks to aunt Stephanie she has been using a straw since 8 months or so!
*Climbing on things and then jumping off of them fearlessly.
*Pointing to things that she wants and saying mom, it's actually been quite helpful!
*reaching her arms out and clenching her fingers in and out when she wants to be held...really? could she be any cuter?!
*an animal lover...Scout is her best friend, she gives her tons of kisses all day and tries to sleep on her.
*23 lbs
*starting to trust other people
*trying to pet other babies/children and wanting to run around and play with them
*blowing kisses
*playing peek a boo and hiding her own eyes
*obsessed with baby dolls, she carries them around with her all day and cries when you take them away from her. She loves to give them kisses and have you kiss them too!
*still has the vocab at mom, dad, uh oh, hey/hi, bye, thank you
*quite content standing in place and tucking one foot behind the other...I've got to get  a pic of it, soooo funny, I do it and so does my mom. It's interesting what things are genetic!
*she furrows her brows when she is upset, confused, or thinks you are dumb!
*stubborn, polite, loving, gently, hilarious, generous
*a good helper, she enjoys unloading and reloading things
*a terror when it comes to the dog food and water bowls. We've lost two full water bowls this week to her dumping them onto the ground. Funny yes, messy yes, but oh so cute!
*my favorite person ever...really this list could go on all day!
****And the big news is....she got her first tooth tuesday evening! We've been watching her upper gums because she has lumps everywhere and we were positive they were days from coming in and out of no where and tooth shows up on bottom. I'm assuming since she is so old getting them, that they will probably start piling in now. Tonight at dinner she was rubbing her tongue along her bottom gums, apparently feeling this tooth for the first time and had her furrowed brow look. HILARIOUS! She was so confused...wish I had my camera!

More fun with the doc!

Before the nebulizer...
....And after...such a sad little one!
It was another trip to the doctors office today. Sarah Grace's wheezing was getting worse yesterday so we headed back in this afternoon. Her pediatrician checked her oxygen level and it was still around 97% so that was good news. We also used the nebulizer while there and that was a fight in itself. It is so much easier to restrain a dog you are trying to nebulize over a child. Anyway, long story short, we were told to finish the meds the next couple of days and use the nebulizer every 4 to 6 hours! (Hope the insurance covers that new little contraption of ours) Sarah Grace is being pretty tolerant as usual, but I'm ready for this to be over with.
*Hopefully I can get to her 13 month post tomorrow!

Sick Sarah Grace

This cute little one has been sick the past week or a little less. I took her to the doctor yesterday only to find out that she has asthmatic bronchitis. I feel so bad for her, of course she is a complete trooper and you can hardly tell by her demeanor that she is even ill. Her pediatrician asked me to keep her "quiet" for a few days, well, its hard to keep an almost 13 month old baby still. The child has been mobile since she was six months and he wants me to keep her still?! It has not been easy! I was also told that she has a heart murmur, which I guess is no surprise, she really does want to be just like her mom. Apparently its a low grade murmur and nothing to be concerned with. So if you don't hear from us for a few days its because I have a child who is drugged up, literally 5 different meds if you include the tylenol and bromhist drops for the nose. Oh as a side note, I mentioned that my child was still without teeth and the doctor said it only becomes a worry if they don't have any by 15 months. Whew....Two months to go Gracie girl!
*So yes my child does have bronchitis, but I can still brag that she is a day short of 13 months and has yet to have a ear infection! ...I'm knocking on as much wood as I can while typing this!

Warm Weather

Yummy! Did I mention Will has his permit? I can't believe it, I've actually taken him out to practice a bit and he isn't half bad!
The weather was absolutely beautiful today, I think the high was around 71 degrees! We played outside with the dogs, cooked fish, took a few trips down the slide, and Gracie had some fun with sticks! Sarah Grace has my horrible cold now, so we really haven't gone out and done much, I think this was a nice break for her!

Not for the weak...

Sarah Grace & I both have colds now!  I hate being sick, I just don't have time for it and all the nonsense that comes along with it.  For instance, the past 4 or 5 night now I have had to breathe out of my mouth. So gross! Open mouth breathing is disgusting.... to make matters worse, yesterday morning I woke up with a terrible feeling in my chest. I got pretty scared and called my mom,  a few moments later I had to hang up with her and sprint to the bathroom. I made it just in time to puke into Sarah Grace's tub! So sorry Gracie girl, at least the mess was contained, or so I thought. The plug in the tub was open so all of the contents were now laying underneath on my floor! Really, this is just nasty and such a waste of my time! The vomit is also a kind reminder and another reason not to have another child for quite some time! ...call me crazy but I like to have control over my body!  Anyway, Grace and I are battling through the best we can and hopefully we'll be better by this weekend!
*I decided to put up a couple of pics of my girls together! Please ignore the horrible amount of sunlight that comes through my window during the day!

Birthday Beagle

I just realized that I hadn't posted pictures from Scout's birthday party. I'm such a bad mom sometimes! We had a lovely little celebration and beagle really enjoyed all of her new presents!
