USC

Championship series starts tonight! Let's go cocks!

The first few days!

I don't know if you could pay these two to keep a straight face or give a "normal" smile!

My super adorable pregnant friend Aubrie!

Laurel burning her Hogi Yogi shirt.  Such a classic!

A Sarah Grace sandwich!

I figured it was probably time for me to start blogging about our trip to Utah. If I don't start soon then I will forget all the fun things that we did. So...I'm just going to dive into it. We flew in on Thursday the 3rd. Our first flight didn't leave Charlotte until 6pm, which is new for us. We usually take early flights, but we figured if we went later Eric could get in a half day at work. Little did we know when we purchased these tickets that Eric would be changing jobs. That half day of work that we were originally planning on, turned into Eric getting off of work at 7am and coming home to sleep before we had to leave for the airport. We were very grateful that we had purchased tickets for a late departure. Sarah Grace, was great on both flights, we thought she would sleep, but of course she didn't. Instead she watched Ice Age over and over again. We can't complain though, she was mostly quiet and content. Mike & Judy picked us up from the airport just before 11pm. The second Sarah Grace saw them she darted off straight into their arms. It was terribly cute and I had to look away for a second due to tears welling up in my eyes. Our luggage was there waiting for us so we literally walked up to the baggage claim, picked up the suitcases, and took off. That first night in Utah we stayed in Park City at the timeshare. It was nice to have a big comfortable bed to sleep in, we were pretty worn out that night. Friday morning we checked out and did some shopping at the outlets in PC. There was little purchasing, but I did manage to pick up a long sleeve button down (which proved to be very useful the following week.) Mostly it was Judy and I going in and out of stores while the boys played with Sarah Grace at the very convenient playgrounds they have around the shopping center. Friday afternoon was spent in Salt Lake walking around Temple Square and eating in The Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We ate in the restaurant Laurel works at (Sorry La I can't remember the name and it's 12:55 in the morning, Eric probably won't appreciate me waking him up to ask and I don't feel like googling it even thought it would literally take two seconds.) The food was delicious and we even got to spend some time with Laurel. Sarah Grace however, was more entertained by the views of the temple and the fountain that we sat so close to. Saturday morning we had to get up early and run errands. The girls dropped me off at my friends baby shower and picked me up about 30 minutes later so we could go to the distribution center. I think we ended up spending a few hours in Orem before heading over to Laurel's bridal shower.  That evening we had a mini campfire in the back yard with the family and a few friends. We loved that little fire pit so much that I had to buy Eric one for Father's Day. (We have yet to use it!) Anyway, it was a great way to start out our little adventure in Utah. I promise I won't be as slow posting about the rest of the week!

Quickish Update

I have to apologize for my lack of blogging. We've been trying to adjust again to Eric's schedule. We had just started to get the hang of things when we left for Utah. I think we are finally starting to get the hang of it again.  The College World Series are also going on right now, so that has been taking up a good bit of my time also. I know these are wonderful excuses, but they're good enough for me. I keep picking up my computer and looking at all of the photos and I would much rather nap or do something fun than blog. I promise, I will get them up and be better about my blogging.  In other news, I had my heart broken on wednesday. Last thursday I found a house that was for sale and it had a killer price tag on it. I called our real estate agent friday morning and by friday evening we were touring the house. It was exactly what we are in need of at this very moment. Garage, 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, huge kitchen, a sun room, large yard, you name it, this house had it, and oh the potential it had. By monday we had all of the loan stuff in process and by wednesday we were ready to put in an offer. Thats when we got the news that the bank had already verbally accepted an offer. I spent the rest of wednesday night fighting back tears. I'm slightly devastated, but I think I'll survive. I'm secretly hoping that the loan/contract falls apart and we can make our move.  A new house was not part of our gameplan, but Eric and I aren't really planners anyway. Oh well, we aren't looking for anything else, it was THAT house that we wanted. In order to get over my slight bit of depression and to relieve ourselves from the heat we've been doing some swimming. It's helping. How could it not?! Sarah Grace is just too cute in a swimsuit! Thats a quick run down of what we've been doing since utah, I promise I will get some pictures up very soon!

Vacation Hangover

We are home and we are recovering from our vacation. Is it possible to need a vacation from your vacation? Eric suggested that as we were flying home yesterday. I think it's possible. We had an awesome trip to Utah where we ate WAY too much, saw most of our good buddies, and spent countless hours just talking with family and enjoying them. Today we are finishing the unpacking, cleaning, and sleeping. We are tired. I opened the door to our refrigerator this morning and realized that a trip to the grocery store is on the agenda for tonight. We literally have condiments, diet mountain dew, and about 6 eggs. Luckily the pantry and freezer were full so we haven't starved today. As soon as my brain clicks back on I will start blogging our trip. I'm really hoping I got some fun pictures, I don't remember using my camera very much and I'm slightly disappointed in myself. I may be stealing pictures from my mother-in-law's blog and also from my sisters-in-law who hopefully took more pictures than me.

Quick trip to the Holy City

I just realized that I still hadn't posted pictures from our trip to Charleston a couple of weeks ago. We did a quick overnighter and stayed with a lady that Eric baptized while he was on his mission. She is now married to one of the bishops down in that area. I thought it would be really awkward, but we ended up having a lot of fun. They were very kind and helpful. Eric was able to figure out some stuff for the future while we were visiting and I think is more motivated and excited about his options! We also went to the aquarium and had a blast. Sarah Grace loved it, especially the touch tank. I'm sorry if this post doesn't make sense, we should be leaving like right now for the airport. Maybe I'll fix this post later on...haha! Anyway, enjoy the few pics that did make it up!
